So what does that actually mean, and why does it matter?

Palm oil is found in countless everyday products, but its impact is anything but ordinary. The demand for palm oil has driven widespread deforestation, destroying rainforests that are essential to our planet’s health. These forests are home to endangered wildlife, including orangutans, whose habitats are disappearing at an alarming rate. Palm oil production also contributes significantly to global carbon emissions, accelerating climate change and putting even more pressure on fragile ecosystems.

You’ve probably seen the phrase “sustainably sourced palm oil” before. While it sounds reassuring, the reality is more complex. Even so-called sustainable palm oil often requires land clearing and still disrupts delicate natural environments. For us, that wasn’t enough. We believe that when the consequences are this significant, good intentions don’t go far enough.

Choosing to be palm oil-free isn’t the easiest option. In fact, it can cost up to 30% more to develop products without it. But for us, that’s a decision we’re proud to stand behind. Instead of palm oil, we carefully select naturally derived, plant-based oils and botanical extracts that nourish and protect your skin while being kinder to the planet.

This commitment is deeply personal for us. Our Founders, Alisa and Lysandra Fraser, are proud ambassadors for Orangutan Foundation International Australia (OFIA).
